Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the people of Enugu State are currently immersed in a jubilant celebration. This exuberance stems from the recent life-saving interventions carried out by the Gburugburu Surgery Programme, which successfully addressed the critical health needs of three Enugu citizens.
This notable occurrence marked the initiation of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme's activities for the year 2024, taking place during the early hours of Tuesday, January 2nd. Among the beneficiaries was Asogwa Betrand from Amube Orba in Udenu Local Government Area (08038257495) who had been grappling with an inguinal hernia. The surgical procedure, herniorrhaphy, was skillfully employed to rectify his condition.
Similarly, Agbo Ifeanyichukwu from Imilike Agu (07040189577) burdened with left Hydrocoele of the cord, underwent a meticulous process involving Herniotomy, Herniorrhaphy, and Orchidopexy for a comprehensive correction. In the same community, Eze Sochima ( 09166491147) faced the challenge of Right Hydrocoele of the cord, and the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme executed a successful intervention through Herniotomy, Herniorrhaphy, and Orchidopexy.
The elation is not confined to the recipients alone; families of the three beneficiaries are expressing profound gratitude to Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his instrumental role in facilitating the healing of their children through the Free Healthcare Initiative.
In his phone interview with FountainCare Reporters, The Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, Dr. George Ajogwu, revealed that the former Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, kicked off the year by expanding the free healthcare intervention Programme. This expansion aims to reach patients in remote communities who may face challenges visiting the central zone of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme. The initiative aligns seamlessly in support of the ongoing commendable efforts of the current Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr Peter Mbah, and his Deputy, Barr Ifeanyi Ossai.
