In an exclusive interview with the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr Aka Eze-Aka, the Enugu State Government has categorically denied any intentions to institute caretaker committees in the 17 local government councils of the state. Mr Eze-Aka dismissed the circulating rumors as unfortunate and urged politicians to exercise patience, cautioning against spreading unfounded speculations that could potentially escalate tensions within the state.
Addressing concerns about the upcoming local government elections scheduled for February 24, 2024, Mr Eze-Aka assured the public that if any changes were to occur regarding the election, they would be communicated transparently. The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) had earlier released the timetable for the local government elections in October 2023.
