Ebonyi State Governor, Nwifuru Boosts Healthcare with New SUVs For Medical Doctors, Ambulances for General Hospitals

In his bid to enhance healthcare infrastructure, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has procured brand new SUVs for medical doctors in General Hospitals across the state. The move, aimed at ensuring seamless medical services and prompt response to duty calls, underscores the government's commitment to the welfare of healthcare professionals.

According to Leo Oketa, the governor's media aide, the fleet of SUVs will provide medical practitioners with the confidence and assurance of their well-being. The governor's proactive approach also addresses concerns about the misuse of hospital ambulances, as the new vehicles are intended to discourage such practices.

In a social media post, Oketa stated, "All the SUVs have been paid for and all of them delivered," emphasizing the government's prompt action in fulfilling this commitment. The initiative is not just about providing vehicles but signifies a broader strategy to support and empower the healthcare workforce.

Furthermore, Governor Nwifuru has demonstrated a commitment to emergency medical services by procuring ambulances for General Hospitals. The ratio of two ambulances per General Hospital is a strategic move to enhance the state's capacity to respond swiftly to medical emergencies.

Oketa highlighted, "52 ambulances were paid for, and 20 have already arrived. The remaining fleet is expected to be delivered soon, reinforcing the governor's vision of having two ambulances per General Hospital in Ebonyi State." The deployment of these ambulances, according to the governor's discretion, is anticipated in the near future.

This initiative not only marks a significant investment in healthcare infrastructure but also showcases Governor Nwifuru's commitment to providing quality medical services and improving the overall health system in Ebonyi State.
