In a harrowing incident, passengers aboard a fully loaded Peace Mass Transit bus destined for Enugu from Abuja fell victim to a kidnapping ordeal this Thursday evening. The abduction occurred at Umuopu-Ette Road, Enugu-Ezike, within the Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Eyewitnesses report that armed bandits intercepted the bus, leading to the capture of all passengers and the driver. Shockingly, only one passenger managed to escape the ordeal unscathed. This incident adds to the growing concerns regarding the safety of alternative routes, particularly the Umuopu-Ette -Ogugu- Kogi State Road, necessitated by the collapse of the Obollo Afor-Enugu-Ezike section of the Enugu-Makurdi Highway.
