The Director General of Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, Dr. George Ajogwu, could not hide his joy but expressed his happiness on the Supreme Court Victory of the Enugu State Governor and his Deputy, Barr Peter Mbah and Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai. Dr. Ajogwu commended the former Governor and the founder of Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his support to his Successor, Gov. Peter Mbah all through the legal battle till his final defeat on his labour party opponent.
In his statement, Dr. George Ajogwu expressed "Today marks the happiest day in Enugu state as the best candidates Gburugburu annointed as the best Governor and Deputy Governor to continue the good work in Enugu state has emerged successfully at the supreme court today"
"The work of the enemies to completely bring down the best decision of Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Gburugburu for the good people of Enugu state has ended today"
"Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's unwavering support to today's victorious outcome has proved his love for Gov. Peter Mbah, his Deputy, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai and the good people of Enugu State" Dr. Ajogwu highlighted.
The apex court in a Friday ruling, dismissed the Appeal by the candidate of the Labour Party, Chijoke Edeoga seeking to nullify Mbah’s election.Both the tribunal and Appeal Court upheld the declaration of Mbah as the winner of the March 18th Governorship poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Recall that on the 10th of November, The Court of Appeal in Lagos has upheld the election of Peter Mbah as the governor of Enugu State.
The three-member court, in a unanimous decision, dismissed the three issues raised by the opposing party.
