KOGI GUBER: PDP Forms Alliance with Labour Party Ahead of Governorship Election


In the current political landscape of Kogi State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign council has officially announced its alliance with the Labour Party (LP) in the state in preparation for the forthcoming November 11 governorship election.


In a joint release issued on Saturday, November 4, 2023, both the PDP and the LP revealed that the Labour Party has chosen to endorse Senator Dino Melaye, the PDP's gubernatorial candidate, as its representative for the Kogi State Governorship Election.


The release stated, "We are pleased to announce that history has been made today, on November 4, 2023. It is a historic moment aimed at salvaging our beloved state, Kogi, and bringing an end to the darkness that has plagued our state during the over seven-year reign of the APC led by Alhaji Yahaya Bello."


The release continued, "Today, we announce an alliance between the People Democratic Party (PDP) and the Dominant Group of the Labour Party (LP) in Kogi State, for the betterment of our state. Following extensive consultations and in the best interest of our dear State, the Labour Party has resolved to adopt the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Senator Dino Melaye, as its candidate for the November 11th Kogi State Governorship Election."


This collaboration between the PDP and the Labour Party is seen as a significant move to unite for the common good of all Kogites and supporters of the Labour Party. The statement further urged supporters in Kogi State to mobilize and cast their votes overwhelmingly for the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Senator Dino Melaye, in the upcoming election.


Senator Dino Melaye also shared the joint release on his social media platform, accompanied by a photograph featuring key leaders from both political parties, emphasizing the unity and strength behind this new alliance as they collectively strive to shape the future of Kogi State.
