Enugu State Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs and Social Development Frowns at Child Brutality

In response to a concerning increase in reported cases of child maltreatment and abuse, the Enugu State Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development has taken a strong stance against any form of child brutality. The ministry expressed deep concern that if this issue is not addressed promptly, it could have lasting effects on the psychological well-being of children, potentially leading to the emergence of violent individuals in the future.

Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Enih, the Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development in Enugu State, unequivocally condemned child brutality and emphasized the gravity of these heinous acts. The ministry has issued a stern warning to all individuals, be they relatives, parents, or guardians, that any mistreatment of children will be met with the full force of the law in Enugu State.

The young victims who have suffered from these cruel acts are now receiving medical treatment and necessary support under the care of the Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development. Commissioner Ngozi Enih stressed that those responsible for such actions will not escape justice, as the law will be rigorously applied to hold them accountable for their actions.

Commissioner Enih underscored that these distressing cases serve as a grave reminder that child abuse and maltreatment will not be tolerated in Enugu State. The ministry is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children and will take all necessary measures to prevent and address any instances of child brutality.
