There was an atmosphere of great joy and gratitude at Chief Julius Ajogwu Memorial Hospital in Nsukka, Enugu State, as Mrs. Ugwu Bernardine Chinedu, a 46-year-old woman battling Endometrial cancer and prolonged bleeding for several years, was successfully treated through a total abdominal Hysterectomy on Saturday, September 9, 2023. This life-saving procedure was made possible by the Gburugburu Free Surgery Program.
The Gburugburu Free Surgery Program, which is dedicated to improving the lives of Enugu State residents, performed surgeries on two other beneficiaries on Thursday, September 8, 2023. The first beneficiary, Ezugwu Chidimma, a 15-year-old, received a successful lipoma removal surgery from her back. The second beneficiary, Ugwu Abel Kosi, aged 28, underwent a procedure to repair a right inguinal hernia. This program, which has touched the lives of many, is a testament to the commitment of the Enugu State government to its citizens' well-being.
The Gburugburu Free Surgery Program has been a cornerstone of good governance in Enugu State, with the unwavering support of His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. Since his tenure as Governor and continuing to this day, this initiative has been a lifeline for those in need of surgical care. The program is an integral part of the broader mission to ensure the total support of the good governance of His Excellency Barr. Peter Mbah and his Deputy, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, in Enugu State.
All indigenes of Enugu State in need of surgical procedures are encouraged to take advantage of this generous program.
