Christians gathered at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Obazu Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State, to bid farewell to late Mrs. Chinyere Lovelyn Mbah, the mother-in-law of Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State. The funeral service, held on Thursday, was a somber occasion that emphasized the importance of righteous living and unity within the Christian community.

During the service, Venerable Obinna Oke delivered a poignant sermon, reminding the congregation of the ultimate judgment day. He urged Christians to lead virtuous lives, shunning back-biting and bitterness. "One day, each of us here will be like Mrs. Chinyere Lovelyn Mbah. So, you better prepare for that day. We must live right and in love for one another, eschewing bitterness and slander because there is no competition in destiny," he said.

Governor Peter Mbah, in his farewell address, reflected on the brevity of human life and stressed the need for complete submission to God. He fondly remembered his mother-in-law as an icon and a loving mother who left a lasting impact on many lives. "Our mother and my mother-in-law was a very loving woman and she had made so much impact. Her departure underscores the brevity of life. She fought a good fight, but it was time for her to go as God willed it. But the good thing is that she will continue to live because of her impacts and the fond memories," he said.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, also in attendance, offered condolences to the bereaved family and Governor Mbah. He acknowledged the mark that late Mrs. Chinyere had made on Earth.

Mr. Uche Mbah, the husband of the deceased, gave a heartfelt funeral oration, describing his late wife as an epitome of a wife and mother. He emphasized that life would never be the same without her presence.

The funeral service was attended by political and religious leaders, as well as prominent figures from various industries, who came to pay their respects and honor the memory of late Mrs. Chinyere Lovelyn Mbah.
