Enugu State Commissioner Pledges Full Support as WOSCONET Advances Women Empowerment


In a collaborative effort towards advancing women's empowerment and inclusion in Enugu State, the Women Support Women Community Network (WOSCONET) led by Ambassador Amaka Nweke, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner of Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development on the 28th of September, 2023.

The meeting which held at the ministry's headquarters, proved to be a resounding success, as critical issues pertaining to women's participation in socio-political and economic activities took center stage. The members of WOSCONET engaged in constructive discussions, focusing on strategies to ensure gender equality and women's active involvement in various facets of society.

Honourable Commissioner Mrs. Ngozi Enih extended her wholehearted support to the Non-Governmental Organization's noble cause. She conveyed the commitment of His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State, to partner closely with WOSCONET in their endeavors. Mrs. Enih vowed to consistently champion the invaluable role women play in the state's development.

On their part, WOSCONET reiterated their dedication to their mission, which revolves around empowering women to become catalysts for societal improvement and transformation. They pledged to strengthen their collaboration and support for the ministry and the people of Enugu State, emphasizing their belief that empowering a woman is tantamount to empowering a nation.

This visit marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to foster gender equality and women's participation in Enugu State, reaffirming the notion that women are indispensable agents of positive change in society.
