BRIDGE COLLAPSE: Enugu State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure Makes Official Announcement, Advices the General Public on Detour Routes

The Enugu State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has issued a critical public advisory regarding a bridge collapse incident that unfolded earlier today along Kilometer One of the Enugu Port Harcourt Expressway, precisely positioned between the Naira Triangle and Goshen Flyover.

In an official statement released today, the Ministry expressed its immediate concern for the safety and well-being of all road users in the region. The collapsed bridge has disrupted traffic flow along this vital transportation artery, prompting an urgent response from local authorities.

Detour Instructions for the General Public:

In light of this unfortunate incident, the Enugu State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure advises the general public and road users to take alternative routes to reach their respective destinations. Two detour options have been recommended:

Nza through New Haven:

Road users can opt to detour via Nza and pass through New Haven, offering a viable route to bypass the affected section.

Ogui Road:

Another alternative is to use Ogui Road, which provides a safe passage for commuters while authorities work diligently to address the bridge collapse.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 

The Enugu State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure wishes to notify the General public of bridge collapse which occurred on 25th September 2023 along Kilometer One, Enugu Port Harcourt Expressway, i.e, between Naira Triangle and Goshen Flyover.

The general public and road users are hereby advised to detour to Nza through New Haven, or Ogui Road to their various destinations, while the authorities are coming up with measures for immediate repair on the failed section.
