The grand opening of the highly anticipated "Coal City Under-15 Championship," sponsored by Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu, Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Enugu North and South, saw a remarkable show of support from prominent stakeholders in Enugu's sporting arena. 

The event was graced by key figures, including the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Barr. Lloyd Ekweremadu, the Majority Leader of Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Johnson Samuel Ani, the Deputy Chief Whip of Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Princess Obiajulu Ugwu, and the Deputy Chairman of Oji River Local Government Council, Hon. Onyebuchi Sopuluibe, among other dignitaries and football enthusiasts.

The grand opening match featured an electrifying clash between CONQUERORS FC and ND FC, with ND FC securing a triumphant 3-0 victory. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as fans cheered on their favorite teams.

This remarkable competition was organized by the Enugu State Football Association, led by Barrister Tony Ugwu (Chairman) and Francis Ugwu (Secretary), in collaboration with the Enugu State Grassroots Football, chaired by Mr. Christian Oduma and Mr. Innocent Mbanu (Vice Chairman).
