100 DAYS IN OFFICE: WOSCONET Congratulates Gov. Peter Mbah on his Impactful Days, Commends His Transparency and Inclusive Approach in Palliative Distribution

The Women Support Women Community Network (WOSCONET), a global women civil society advocacy group, has warmly congratulated His Excellency, Barr. Peter Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State, on the occasion of his 100 days in office anniversary. This milestone was marked with commendations for the governor's transparent approach to the distribution of palliatives provided by the federal government.

In their official statement, WOSCONET lauded Governor Peter Mbah's strategic leadership and the notable achievements recorded in his 100 Days in Office Broadcast. Central to their commendation was the governor's commitment to ensuring that palliatives reached the most vulnerable residents in both rural and urban communities within Enugu State.

The Enugu State government had taken a proactive step by establishing Palliative Distribution Committees across all 260 wards within the state. This initiative aimed to ensure the equitable distribution of palliatives to those affected by the removal of fuel subsidies, acknowledging the short-term challenges it posed to citizens.

Amb. Mrs. Amaka Nweke JP, the Founder of WOSCONET, emphasized on the importance of these palliative committees headed by the Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, which it's members representing each ward are drawn from reputable civil society organizations (CSOs) Religion bodies and council. She noted that this setup allowed for transparency and accountability in the distribution process, as residents could easily identify and monitor committee members.

In this critical time, Governor Peter Mbah's administration has demonstrated its commitment to alleviating the immediate effects of policy changes while emphasizing long-term benefits.
