Breaking News: 6 Lives Saved as Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme Intervened, Rescues Patients with Severe Surgery Cases in Enugu North Senatorial Zone.


In a recent groundbreaking development, the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme has emerged as a life-saving intervention, securing the well-being of six patients grappling with severe surgical cases within the Enugu North Senatorial Zone.

     TESTIMONIES FROM THE BENEFICIARIES 

"Through the Surgery Programme, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi through the Director-General of the free healthcare service, Dr. George Ajogwu in support of His Excellency, Barr. Peter Mbah and Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, has been steadfastly wiping away the suffering of Ndi Enugu," affirms Dr. George Ajogwu, the Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme.

Enugu State's renowned humanitarian healthcare initiative, the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, helmed by Dr. George Ajogwu on behalf of former Governor His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has consistently extended a lifeline to Enugu citizens, especially within the Enugu North Senatorial Zone (Nsukka Axis).

The most recent instance of this impactful initiative unfolded on August 6th and 7th at the Chief Julius Ajogwu Memorial Hospital. The Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, designed to cater to the entirety of Enugu State's populace, holds sessions every Saturday, Sunday, and Thursday of each week. All indigenes of Enugu State are urged to reach out to Doctor George Ajogwu, the programme's director, at 08112296124.


This healthcare initiative was conceived with the aim of attending to financially constrained citizens of Enugu State, particularly those grappling with surgical challenges in rural areas.

Highlighted below are the beneficiaries of the recent free surgeries carried out on 6th and 7th of August 2023.

1. Chimerimueze Ojiofor, 4 years old, from Ugbene-Ajima, underwent procedures for Right Hydrocele of the Cord and Herniotomy, Herniorrhaphy, and Orchidopexy.

2. Mbaeze Chukwudi, 23 years old, from Uvuru, underwent a procedure for Right Inguinal Hernia and Herniorrhaphy.

3. Ajogwu Nnamdi, 32 years old, from Uvuru, received treatment for a Giant Right Inguinoscrotal Hernia through herniorrhaphy.

4. Ayogu Joseph, 58 years old, underwent Lumpectomy for a chest Lipoma.

5. Ugwuoke Innocent, 40 years old, from Iheaka Igbo-Eze South, underwent herniorrhaphy for a Giant Inguinoscrotal Hernia.

6. Nwaogbo Arinze, 37 years old, received herniorrhaphy for a Giant Lipoma on the back.

...totalling 1,331 Free Surgical Procedures.

Dr. George Ajogwu, the Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, highlighted  that the programme was initiative and sponsored by the former Governor His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi during his tenure as the governor of Enugu State, and has continued to sponsor it in support of the incumbent Governor, Barr. Peter Mbah, and his Deputy, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai. This remarkable endeavor continues to shine a light of hope on the lives of those in need within Enugu's healthcare landscape.
