In a statement released on Friday, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Spokesperson to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, addressed the recent appointments of Senior Special Assistants within the government. The appointments include a Senior Special Assistant for the Government House Pool and a Senior Special Assistant for Graveyards.
Rasheed clarified that the term "Government House Pool" pertains to the transport unit of the Government House. This section is responsible for overseeing drivers and vehicles operating within the Government House premises. He emphasized that this particular office has been in existence for the past twelve years, having been established by previous governments, specifically the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Additionally, the statement highlighted the purpose behind the appointment of a Senior Special Assistant for Graveyards. The government explained that this position is tied to the Oranmiyan New Town project, designed to support the interests of indigenes residing abroad by safeguarding their investments in the form of a diasporic estate program.
Rasheed further emphasized that both appointments were deemed necessary and essential, refuting claims that they were frivolous or politically motivated. He underlined the continuity in retaining successful aspects of previous administrations while discarding ineffective elements. Governor Adeleke's commitment to preserving what is beneficial and discarding what is not was underscored in the statement.
The statement aimed to provide clarity to the public regarding these appointments, emphasizing their functional roles and the strategic significance they hold within the state government's operations.
