The management of Ikechukwu Ezeugwu Foundation has partnered with Actors Guild of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter to provide health insurance for actors. The healthcare program that was launched by the duo during the AGN 2023 Week, tagged "Walk For Life" using free medical evaluation and counselling held at Okpara Square in Enugu on the 13th of April. The launching of the 70% off Health Insurance Platform for actors, liasing with health maintenance organization (HMO), a network that provides health insurance coverage made up of a group of medical insurance providers that extends coverage to medical care provided through doctors and other health workers took place that day.
Emphasising on the most obvious advantage that health insurance will provide for actors, the Founder of Ikechukwu Ezeugwu Foundation, Hon. Ezeugwu stated that; "No one plans to get sick or hurt, but most people need medical care at some point. This Health Insurance covers these costs and offers many other essential health benefits critical to maintaining the health of actors, treating illness and accidents while protecting them from unexpected, high medical costs, especially during emergencies and old age"
"Not less than 50 actors were registered to benefit from this health insurance package . In essence, our health insurance plan will serve as a solution to deal with the rising medical costs for actors in Nigeria" he said.
While responding to FountainCare Reporters, the immediate past Acting Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Enugu State and the state Director, Guild Service, Hon. Chidi Concord, made it known that the actors Health Insurance Coverage with Ikechukwu Ezeugwu Foundation will create a panacea to the public embarrassment on actors who often use the social media to seek for funds from the general public when encountered with medical emergencies.
The event witnessd a huge turnout of hundreds of actors who stormed Okpara square on 13th April for the Health Walk.
Notable actors who graced the Health Walk included Mr Chika Okpala, MON,(Chief Zebrudaya), the National President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas MON, Vice President AGN South-East Zone, AB Cowboy, Current state Chairman of AGN, Mr Brown Ene and his Executives, other Nollywood Celebrities include, Mike Ezuruonye, Adaeze Chiegbu, Ejima Aneke, Bengil, Ikenta Nollywood and a host of others.
