Last year, the government looked on while flood ravaged many states. At the outbreak of the Russia-ukraine, our students were abandoned in Ukraine to suffer untold hardships.
The Government had to hold a Federal Executive Council meeting to approve funding for emergency evacuation of Nigerian citizens trapped in Sudan war. While other countries moved their citizens, we were still planning. As usual, the arrangements were abysmally implemented. Once more, we are butt of jokes.
Nigeria does not even have a working emergency plan that can be activated instantaneously when emergencies arise. The Sudan case showcases our shame again.
