In a gathering that attracted all the "who is who" from the community, the leaders of the community while endorsing Gov. Ugwuanyi and Barr. Peter, passionately appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to consider giving them freedom as they have been fighting for this freedom for a long time. Speaking during the gathering, the Igwe elect assured his Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of the total support of his people. In his words, "we are going to deliver his Excellency come 25th of February 2023 and the opposition will not get a single vote from here, we are giving you this assurance and by God's grace so shall it be".
We are also begging his Excellency to consider granting us freedom and giving us our own autonomous community, that is all we are asking from him. We have nobody to speak for us but we believe that God Almighty will speak for us and we have confidence that we shall get the autonomous community we have been seeking for.
While reacting to their appeal, the person who represented his Excellency in the gathering, Comr. Clinton Ogbonna assured Ụjọma Ozalla that his Excellency will grant their request and encouraged them to continue supporting Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's mandate and that of other PDP candidates in Enugu State. In his words, "be rest assured that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will grant your requests once you fulfil your promise by voting for him to represent us at the Senate come Feb 25, 2023. He encouraged them to do their own part and leave the rest for his Excellency for he will not fail/disappoint his people. Be rest assured!
