And the Lord said to Joshua, "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." (Joshua 1:9). Taking it back to verse 5, the Lord had said to Joshua,"There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." As we reflect on the electioneering campaigns in Enugu State, especially with regard to the governorship and the deluge of falsehood and propaganda the opposition visit on Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the visionary young leader who is the governorship candidate of the PDP, the Lord took us to the book of Joshua as quoted above. The word of God is errorless and infallible. God values His word and it does not return void. He is the same God yesterday, today and forever. And forever His word is settled in heaven.
The Almighty God before the foundation of the earth had called Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to take Enugu State to the promised land, a land flowing with milk and honey, a sizable economy with $30 billion GDP, a situation of zero percent poverty headcount index. That is the promised land to which Peter has been appointed, anointed and ordained to take the people of Enugu State the same way Joshua was anointed to take the children of Israel to the promised land, Canaan.
When the Lord commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous, the Almighty God had known some fearful things might come upon Joshua in the process. There were many lands to conquer. The Anakims, the giants, already inhabited the land. The people of AI, the Amelekites and the like we're already there, and had got to be conquered. Many battles were lined up to be fought. The Lord had thus spoken to Joshua because if he wouldn't take away fear and be courageous, knowing full well he had been anointed with power to defeat the adversaries, tendencies that he might develop grasshopper mentality and chicken out were there, even at the promise of the presence of God with him.
Since the electioneering process began right from the build up to the primaries, there is no manner of inquisition that has not been visited on Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. If it was not that Peter was bankrupt today, it would be that either the EFCC or the FBI was looking for him or that he entered plea bargain; or that he was convicted, and all manner of virulent concoction of lies against him. Nonetheless, Peter defeated all the aspirants in the PDP to emerge the flag bearer of the party.
The defeated who had submitted to Peter, later absconded to other parties, especially Labour Party where they hope to ride on Peter Obi's popularity to victory. The APC is quite another. Though ruined by the high-handedness of its leadership, the candidate and the party leaders in the Enugu State APC are out to play the spoiler for Peter. Uche Nnaji, the candidate of the APC knows he is far from the throne, but he is in the race to undo Peter. The APC knows it has no foothold in Enugu State. All it targets to do is besmear the person of Peter Mbah with false allegations. That was why its state chairman, Ugo Agballa, keeps on calling Peter Mbah names, raising all manner of false allegations against a man who bankrolled his governorship bid in 2022. Frank Nweke Jnr, the governorship candidate of APGA who had earlier appeared to be issue-based, also fell into the cesspit of besmear campaign against Peter and the PDP. It became obvious to everyone that the opposition has formed a virulent league against Peter Mbah with a view to destroy his soaring political career. It is also obvious that Peter commands absolute acceptance among the Enugu electorate and everyone can clearly see he would be voted the governor of Enugu State. Peter comes with unexampled value proposition into which Ndi Enugu have bought, as Peter toured the 68 development centres in the state, explaining this social contract to the people at the grassroots.
Seeing that of a truth God is with Peter and has anointed him to take over from Governor Ugwuanyi who has like Moses laid the foundation for Joshua, that is Peter Mbah, the opposition is let loose to unleash the mother of all villainous propaganda and make believe against the anointed of the Lord. They came up with 'Ego Ndi Enugu', instituted frivolous suits against Peter, roused one Idoko to frivolity and meddlesomeness, and when they saw that they had all failed, they now came up with NYSC certificate forgery and went to court to prosecute trumped up charges against the son of man. These are the situations the Lord had asked Peter to be strong and courageous. The tempest would rage, the cyclone swirl and the sea billows roll, yet the Iroko remains unfazed. "When peace like a river, attendeth my way;
ehen sorrows like sea billows roll. Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,It is well, it is well, with my soul… Peter surely will come away with all these unscathed. God who calls the things that be not as thou they were, has assured us of 29th May, when Peter Ndubuisi Mbah shall be sworn in at Okpara Square Enugu as the governor of Enugu State. So shall it be in Jesus'mighty name. Amen!
The raging tempest orchestrated by the opposition shall blow them away into the wilderness of political nothing. He that digs a pit shall fall into it. They shall be caught in their own net, all those who orchestrate false allegations and vile fictions against Peter Mbah. The three stooges, Geshem, Sanballat, and Tobia tried repeatedly to destroy Nehemiah. Four times they attempted to lure him to a meeting where they can harm him. They goaded him by accusing him of rebelling against the Persian king. How did it go with them. The tree stooges against Peter, laying false accusation are Chijioke Edeoga, Uche Nnaji and Frank Nweke Jnr. May we refer them to Nehemiah Chapter 4 to read the fate that awaits those who practice such evil as they. The king of Assyria had thought to impugn Israel and wrote a letter to King Hezekiah commanding him to submit to him or be dealt with, the same way Edeoga has sent his emissary Ikem Okuhu, asking Peter to withdraw from the governorship race over the same make believe NYSC certificate forgery narrative. King Hezekiah went to the temple of God and spread the letter before the Lord. The rest is history. Read it up in 2 Kings Chapter 19. Such stories of the heathen daring the anointed of the Lord abound. Daniel was accused and thrown into the lion's den, you know the story. The three Hebrew children, Shedrack, Meshak and Abednego were accused and thrown into the fiery furnace. The fourth man on fire came into it and not even a hair of their bodies was singed. History besides the bible is replete with antagonists who ruined themselves for daring to impugn the hero, the anointed of the Lord. If the political sun in Enugu State would stand still as it did for Joshua that the people of AI be routed, O' God make a name for yourself in Enugu State and in the life of your son, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, that the raging heathen may know how not to touch Your anointed.
Peter has remained invulnerable to the fiery darts of the opposition who left issue-based campaign for character assassination. Peter had in life fought many battles, even in the private sector and had always prevailed. It took the battle of disruptive innovation for Peter to turn around a relatively unknown player in the oil and gas stream to the market leader. This one will not be an exception. The Almighty God shall frustrate the token of liars and make diviners mad. In due course Peter shall be vindicated. So, we the triumvirate pen-pushers hereby urge Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to ride in with courage and strength, knowing the Lord is with him. Very soon, the adversaries shall be hoisted in their own petard
