ENUGU 2023: PETER MBAH SUPPORT GROUP MOBILIZES 7,000 POLLING UNIT CANVASSERS IN 17 LGAs

Frontline support group for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah has mobilized 7,000 polling unit canvassers for the forthcoming general elections.

The canvassers will man all the polling units in the 17 local government areas of the state during the upcoming elections billed for February 25 and March 11, 2023.

The Director General of the group, the Peter Mbah Support Group (PMSG), Mr.  Emeka Ogbu-Nwobodo made this known while submitting the first list of 4,551 canvassers to Dr Peter Mbah during a solidarity visit at his residence in Enugu on Thursday.
He said a supplementary list was being compiled which would bring the total number of the canvassers to 7,000 persons.

Ogbu-Nwobodo explained that the primary duty of the polling unit canvassers is to ensure that no intruder disrupts the voting process and that no campaign activities are carried on at the polling units on the election days.

The party chieftain noted that the canvassers would also ensure that the votes belonging to the party are protected, adding that the PMSG will sponsor the exercise.
Speaking on the chances of the PDP at the polls, Ogbu-Nwobodo said it was clear that the party's candidates were all coasting home to victory as evidenced by the attempts by the opposition to gain relevance through pernicious and baseless propaganda.

Responding, Dr Mbah acknowledged the efforts of the support group in galvanizing support for his governorship aspiration, noting that the group has remained formidable in its support and has set the pace on all fronts.

He pledged never to disappoint Ndi Enugu if entrusted with their mandate, saying his government will focus on poverty eradication, infrastructural development and massive economic growth.

Also present to receive the PMSG delegation was Dr Mbah’s running mate, Barr Ifeanyi Ossai, and the Director General of the State PDP Campaign Council/Peter Mbah Campaign Organization, Chief Ikeje Asogwa.
