Enugu Appeals Project: 1,700 Farmers Benefit from 3.4bn Grant Disbursed by Enugu State Govt in Collaboration with World Bank

This was made possible by the effort of the Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi led administration by the provision of counterpart funding, making access to funds easy for women, youths and the physically challenged., core demographics that the governor's administration has given priority. The WYEP programme began in 2019, with a call for expression of interest, and with a total submission of 29,707 which was trimmed down to 1700, including women, youths and persons with disabilities across the 17 local governments in the state.


Enugu State Governor, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi said the state government remained committed to food security through marked improvement in agriculture and agro-allied processing as well as creation of massive employment for its citizen, hence the APPEALS project is considered a major vehicle for the achievement of this objective.
