The leadership of an Enugu Diasporan youth group under the aegis of Enugu Youth Reform Initiative (EYRI) has through a press statement made known to the general public stated the group's unanimous resolve to openly campaign for and support Barr. Peter Mbah to become the next Governor of Enugu State after an exhaustive investigation on all gubernatorial candidates in Enugu.
The group, Enugu Youth Reform Initiative established as a result of the growing need to galvanise support and help for Enugu Youths Living abroad has since 2015 existed as a mother Diasporan Youth Organization with writs in the United Kingdom (UK), United States of America (USA), Germany and South Africa.
In the press statement signed by it's global President, Hon. Emma Tochukwu Nwaozuzu (Ike-ogwa), the organization identifies her interest in the 2023 election by noting;
"As a body that Pursues a mandate that leverages on the goodwill of governments, agencies, organisations and individuals, the 2023 elections becomes therefore a major crossroad that would determine not just the fate of our organization but also the fate of Enugu youths in general"
"It is therefore not a time for anybody to sit on the fence or feign neutrality. This is why our organization has collaborated with other relevant bodies in driving advocacies and campaigns that ensure that a good population of diasporans vote in the elections"
The statement further notes that while the organization has been at the fore front of the support for Peter Obi Presidential ambition based on principle, the choice of who to support for the governorship of Enugu State becomes a very easy one as one candidate glaringly and sterlingly outclasses the others in antecedents, exposure, experience, education, achievement and every indices worthy of consideration.
The group's Global President, Hon. Emma Nwaozuzu notes that;
"The Mbah/Ossai ticket stands out as a timely but rare combo of advanced legal minds brandishing not just audible testimonials of private results and success but a disruptively innovative developmental blueprint for an Enugu that will best serve all and sundry"
The organization further assures Nigerians that through EYRI's collaborative advocacies and campaigns, a good population of diasporans are currently armed with their PVCs and ready to vote during the elections here in Nigeria.
The statement also disclosed their intention to immediately start a campus-to-campaus campaign for Barr. Peter Mbah as a way to actively engage the young persons on the need to key into Peter Mbah's Enugu project.
"We want to inform Ndi Enugu that we are already on ground and ready for the elections. As part of plans to be actively involved in voting in the right candidate, we are immediately kick-starting a campus to campus sensitisation program to speak directly to our fellow young persons in the campuses on the need to take their future into their hands." he stated.
