South East Students Summit 2022: Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu Speaks On "The Importance Of Education In Nation Building"

The National Association Of Nigerian Students NANS Zone F. South East held a Students' Summit In Enugu State recently, an event which ended   with a maiden Senate Meeting of the zone attended by student delegates drawn from all higher institutions of learning in the five states of the South East Region.
The leader of Enugu State House of Assembly and the Founder of a prominent Humanitarian Foundation In Enugu State, Ikechukwu Ezeugwu Foundation, Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu PhD gave a key note speech on the Importance Of Education In Nation Building. Hon. Ezeugwu emphasised on the need for Nigerian Youths and Students to inculcate discipline and purposeful life style to survive the challenges of adulthood.
He made an  informed opinion  on the steps young persons should take to self development and educational success which is the panacea to the menace of social vices that have been bedeviling Nigerian youths in the recent times. While counselling the youths at the summit, Hon. Ezeugwu highlighted  the role of the youths in the society and the need for a high moral standard which is important for a successful nation. He took time to mentor and tutor the teaming South East youths on the importance of education and the need for self esteem. 
On youths involvement in politics he advised them to first of all develope themselves in their various professions as politics is not a profession.  According to him nobody can give what he/she doesn't have hence the need to be able to bring something to the table of politics in order to be respected and taken seriously.  He emphasised the need for a second address so that when one has played his/her part the person will leave the stage when the ovation is highest. 
The Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology IMT Enugu, Prof. Augustine Uchechukwu Nweze was represented by the Schools' Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Ifeanyi Ojobor who spoke on character of Nigeria students, vis a vis 21st century and the implications of science and technology. Dr. Ojobor harped his lectures on ICT compliance, Abuse of the Internet and laziness amongst students.
The peak of the event was the presentation of a surprise birthday cake by NANS to Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu whose Foundation marked it's 10th anniversary  on his birthday the previous day. Recall that Ikechukwu Ezeugwu Foundation extended it's scholarship to South East and Nasarawa State. The Foundation’s  annual event was  witnessed by  the presence of notable men and women and was climaxed by the  presentation of cheques to beneficiaries and the unveiling of the Foundation’s magnificent secretariat in Enugu. 
According to the coordinator of NANS South East, Comr. Ibeabuchi Moses, celebrating Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu again in the presence of the student delegates representing the entire South East Zone is a way of  appreciating his enormous support and contributions towards the success and growth of NANS ranging from his Foundation’s provision of a vehicle to NANS South East, dishing out scholarship to underprivileged undergraduates, mentorship and other several financial and moral supports.
Also present at the summit were the Dean of Students Affairs the Federal School of Dental Therapy and Technology Enugu, Mrs. Ngozi Okafor, representatives of managements of different higher institutions across South East, SUG Presidents,  Faculty Presidents and other student stakeholders.
