In the spirit of yuletide, the Executive Chairman of Enugu East, Hon. Livinus Nze Anike, on 6th December, shared bags of rice, wrappers, cartons of indomie noodles and funds to many beneficiaries.
The event commenced with a church service held by Rev. Fr. Reuben Ozoude to mark the end of this year's monthly prayer session of the local government.
In his homily, the priest admonished christians to inculcate virtues of patience, faith, humility and forgiveness.
He further said that prayer and good deeds are necessary to triumph in every adversity.
He equally used the opportunity to commend the Council Chairman for his transformational leadership, developmental projects and service to humanity.
Meanwhile, Aides to the council Chairman offered a sacrifice of thanksgiving during the church service to thank God for His goodness.
In his remarks at the event, the council Chairman affirmed that he was inspired to share the joy of Christmas with the people of Enugu East LGA because it is a season of demonstrating love to humanity.
He urged people of the area to hold on to God as the only source of power, grace, wisdom and all blessings.
He prayed God to bless the people of Enugu East for supporting his administration and promised to continue with his good governance.
On the other hand, the gift items were shared to many beneficiaries selected from the twelve electoral wards of the council area and it ignited joy and jubilation at the event.
The highpoint of the event were refreshment and joyful dance with the council Chairman.
Principal officers of the council area, Councillors, Supervisors, political aides, local government employees and other stakeholders witnessed the event.
