Fellow citizens of our beloved Enugu State, and our dear country Nigeria, this short treaties is directed at you, to add to your knowledge, as well as enrich your experience, Silence, as we all know, is the absence of noise, and silence is said to be golden. The allusion made in the above aphorism, equating silence with gold, a very high value placed on one who is able to do great things in a very quiet and low-key manner.
Now, who is a revolutionary, and why is Dr. Peter Mbah, the amiable and dynamic people's candidate for the governorship position of Enugu state, being ranked as one? Well, a revolutionary is one who starts or supports a revolution that is a drastic change, in the way things are done. Anyone who goes through the manifesto of Dr. Peter Mbah and compare to other candidates in the forthcoming governorship election in Enugu state, and re-visits that Peter Mbah's own would be absolutely astonished at the high proportion and quality of ideas embedded in transforming the state with infrastructural and other development plans put in place to take off his administration.
This no doubt, informed the people of Enugu state to elect Peter Mbah as their next governor. In fact such a person, is a silent revolutionary, is Dr. Mbah, going by his massive, people-oriented programmes, some of which have been accomplished in the public-private sector and many others ongoing. By the time Peter Mbah's administration takes centre stage, it has become obvious that doing great things quietly has become the Hallmark of his disruptive innovative programmes and the stems from the personal style of His Excellency, the incoming governor of Enugu state.
Those who knew Peter Mbah from the early days have attested to his quiet and unassuming manner and style of doing things. Dr. Peter Mbah brought this unique style into play, in governance and administration, when he was appointed the Chief of Staff to the government, and as well as Commissioner For Finance and Economic Development in Enugu State, and this has resulted in the total transformation or revolution if you like, that is now ongoing in different sectors of the economy in parts of the state. He has toed this same line, even when he was on the receiving end of the stick, on several recent occasions.
It is not part the aim of this message to revisit episodes which had been overhauled by the revelation of the true facts. But suffice it to say that, in recent times, Peter Mbah, against the well-meaning advice of his important aides, who wished he responded to several rumours being peddled about his power of affluence merely laughed at the entire baseless lie. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, it would appear, seems to agree with a statement by the late great Ezeigbo Gburugburu, Dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, which goes like this, "I cannot dignify a lie by answering it." Now, in answer to current tales by some individuals and 'groups", in line with Peter Mbah's style, he is doing his thing quietly.
As a legal practitioner very vast in law with many years of experience, Dr. Mbah complied with every provision that the Nigerian Constitution stipulated that an aspiring governor should do before proceeding with his campaign. This situation, you must know, came about only because Peter Mbah has not enjoyed his normal holidays since he made a declaration his intentions govern Enugu state, all in an effort to ensure that the necessary things are done within the state for the people's benefit.
On the other hand, one would understand and indeed, truly appreciate the concern of residents and good people of Enugu state, not having seen their incoming governor for some time relenting in his oasis, and we thank the entire people most sincerely for this show of solidarity and goodwill. But, we know that Peter Mbah will be governor very soon. The unfortunate thing is that some politicians and people who have decided to oppose Peter Mbah becoming the next governor, are beginning to use his silence as an opportunity to make some unnecessary statements which are not supposed to even come up for any reason at all. You cannot change Peter Mbah's silent and quiet approach. Not now.
In reaction to the most recent fabricated rumour that Dr. Peter Mbah had been invited by the FBI, let it be on record that independent check revealed that there has never been truth bearing such false propaganda paraded by Hon Chijioke Edeoga and his co-travellers. Only God knows what this acrimonious Edeoga and his faceless group are trying to achieve by giving people the false impression that Enugu is under political tension. My investigation revealed that most of these publications were merely handiwork of mischief makers, lieutenant of the failed former commissioner For Environment, Enugu state that never offered the administration of Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, CON, any meaningful service, talk more of justifying the reason he was appointed to head the environment ministry.
Ndi Enugu, Tomorrow Is Here.
