Hon. Chinedu Eya, Labour Party candidate for the Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency, has taken his campaign message to Ibadan, Oyo State, where his campaign organisation engaged sons and daughters of the constituency resident in the city.
The engagement, held under the auspices of the MY EYA HOME/SODAK Town Hall Meeting, brought together indigenes of Igbo-Eze North/Udenu to discuss issues surrounding representation, community development and the political future of the constituency.
Speaking at the meeting, Chief Onyeke Kanayo Jonathan, Director-General of the Hon. Chinedu Eya Campaign Organisation (Diaspora), called on the people to support the candidacies of Hon. Chinedu Eya at the federal level and Hon. Apeh Solomon, popularly known as SODAK, at the state level.
Chief Onyeke said the importance of having both candidates in the National and State Assemblies goes beyond political representation, stressing the need for representatives whose experience and engagements demonstrate a commitment to community development, youth empowerment and human-capital development.
According to him, Eya and SODAK have, through their respective activities, demonstrated interests that extend beyond personal and business pursuits, particularly through initiatives aimed at creating opportunities and contributing to the development of individuals and communities.
Eya, who was represented at the meeting by the Director-General of his campaign organisation, also urged the people of Igbo-Eze North/Udenu to carefully consider the records, experience and capacity of the candidates before making their choices, particularly with regard to effective representation and constituency development.
He expressed confidence that the emergence of Eya and SODAK, according to the campaign organisation, would provide an opportunity for stronger representation and renewed attention to issues affecting the people, especially youth development, empowerment and community advancement.
The Ibadan engagement is part of the wider outreach efforts of the campaign organisation to connect with indigenes of Igbo-Eze North/Udenu living outside the constituency and present its message ahead of the forthcoming elections.
