A 26-year-old mother of three, identified as Vainess Kanyama, has reportedly died after she was allegedly beaten by her husband’s alleged lover in Kitwe, Zambia.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in Kapoto Township, after Kanyama allegedly confronted Christin Ntundwe over an alleged affair with her husband.
According to the victim’s uncle, Derrick Bwalya, he received a call informing him that Kanyama had been found unconscious near a market.
Bwalya said he rushed to the scene and found his niece bleeding from the nose and unresponsive. Attempts to take her to hospital were reportedly unsuccessful, as she was already dead.
The incident was subsequently reported to the police.
A post-mortem examination reportedly established that Kanyama died from blood clots on both sides of the brain. Her family buried her on Friday following the examination.
Bwalya said the family was demanding justice and appealed to Kanyama’s husband to cooperate with the police in efforts to locate Ntundwe, who was reportedly on the run.
Kanyama is survived by her three children, including a five-year-old child.
Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death are reportedly ongoing.
