As the nationwide Permanent Voter Card (PVC) registration exercise comes to a close, Princess Ada Ogbu has renewed her call on eligible Nigerians to seize the final opportunity to register, stressing that the power to shape the nation's future lies in active participation in the electoral process.
Princess Ada Ogbu made the appeal while reflecting on the recent visit of the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, to Enugu, where she received him during his visit to a voter registration centre. The visit formed part of efforts to mobilise and encourage eligible Nigerians, particularly young people, to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of future elections.
According to her, the voter registration exercise is not merely an administrative process but a civic responsibility that empowers citizens to determine the direction of the country through the ballot.
She urged those who are yet to register to take advantage of the final day of the exercise, noting that every eligible Nigerian deserves the opportunity to make their voice heard.
In her words:
"A few days ago, I had the honour of welcoming His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, to Enugu during his visit to a voter registration centre, where we encouraged eligible Nigerians to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Today marks the final day of PVC registration. If you are yet to register, this is your opportunity to do so before the deadline. Your PVC is more than just a card; it is your voice, your power, and your chance to help shape the future of our nation.
Every vote counts. Every voice matters. Let's all be ready to choose the future we believe in.
A New Nigeria is POssible."
Princess Ada Ogbu reiterated that meaningful democratic participation begins with voter registration, encouraging citizens across the country to embrace their civic responsibility by obtaining their PVCs and remaining committed to building a more prosperous, accountable, and inclusive Nigeria.
