The Likeminds for PNM Movement has announced plans to stage another edition of its highly anticipated Street Hangout in Enugu State as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots political mobilisation, expand civic participation, and promote inclusive engagement among residents.
The event, scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2026, will take place at Ugbo Odogwu, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu, where political leaders, youths, community stakeholders, and supporters of the movement are expected to converge for an interactive session focused on grassroots development and political participation.
Organised under the theme "Likeminds for PNM" with the slogan "#LIKEMINDSFORPNM #TOMORROWISHERE," the gathering is designed to encourage unity, collective action, and active citizen involvement in shaping the future of Enugu State.
According to the organisers, the Street Hangout will provide an opportunity for participants to engage directly with key political mobilisation leaders while discussing strategies for sustaining grassroots participation and supporting ongoing development initiatives across the state.
Among the prominent personalities expected at the event are the Commissioner for Water Resources and Leader of Enugu West Zone, Engr. Ben-Collins Ndu Jr.; the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources and Leader of Enugu North Zone, Hon. Enyinna Franklin Ogbonna (Iko Ugba); the Liaison Officer of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), Enugu State Chapter, and Leader of Enugu East Zone, Hon. Edeani Maduabuchi Edeani; as well as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilisation and Youth Leader, Nwogbo Emeka Nelson.
The organisers explained that beyond political interaction, the event is intended to reinforce grassroots networks, inspire greater public participation in governance, and create a platform where supporters can exchange ideas on community development and the state's future.
Promotional materials released ahead of the programme prominently feature the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, reflecting the movement's support for his administration and its commitment to advancing the governor's transformational vision for the state.
Political analysts believe initiatives such as the Street Hangout have become increasingly significant in strengthening grassroots democracy, fostering closer engagement between political leaders and citizens, and encouraging broader participation in governance and public affairs.
With expectations of a large turnout from across the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State, the event is anticipated to further consolidate the movement's grassroots presence while providing another platform for dialogue on sustainable development, political inclusion, and community-driven progress.
