NMA Enugu Congratulates Anglican Diocese on Successful 19th Synod, Pledges Stronger Healthcare Partnership

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Enugu State Branch, has congratulated the Anglican Diocese of Enugu on the successful conclusion of the 3rd Session of its 19th Synod, while reaffirming its commitment to partnering with the Diocese in advancing community healthcare initiatives across the state.

In a goodwill message signed by the Chairman of the Association, Rtn. Dr. Sunday Okafor, the NMA commended the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Enugu, The Rt. Rev. Prof. Samuel Obiajulu Ike, alongside the clergy, laity and the entire Anglican family for what it described as a successful and impactful Synod.

The Association noted that it was honoured to participate in this year's Synod, which also marked the second Synod presided over by Bishop Ike since his episcopal ordination. According to the NMA, the Bishop's remarkable journey from an accomplished medical academic and clinician to a respected spiritual leader continues to inspire members of the medical profession and the wider society.

The Association praised Bishop Ike's unique blend of professional excellence and spiritual leadership, describing his life as a shining example that outstanding accomplishments in medicine can seamlessly coexist with dedicated Christian ministry for the overall benefit of humanity.

The NMA further expressed delight over the Diocese's growing commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare through community medical outreaches and other developmental programmes. It observed that such initiatives are closely aligned with the Association's vision of promoting accessible and quality healthcare services for the people of Enugu State.

As part of its support for the Diocese's humanitarian and developmental efforts, the Association reaffirmed its readiness to go beyond financial contributions by providing professional medical partnership. It pledged to make available qualified medical personnel, technical expertise and other necessary support to ensure the successful implementation of the Diocese's community-based healthcare programmes.

Describing Bishop Ike's leadership as exemplary, the Association applauded his humility, visionary disposition and unwavering commitment to the service of God and humanity. It noted that his administration continues to inspire hope, foster development and promote holistic wellbeing within the Diocese and beyond.

The NMA prayed for God's continued grace, strength and wisdom upon Bishop Ike as he shepherds the Diocese, while also asking for greater growth, abundant harvests, enduring peace and increased impact for the Anglican Diocese of Enugu in all its spiritual and developmental endeavours.

The Association concluded by extending its heartfelt congratulations to the Diocese on the successful Synod and expressed optimism that the growing partnership between the Church and the medical profession would contribute significantly to improving healthcare delivery and community development across Enugu State.
