...Targets 520 Beneficiaries Across 260 Wards
The Enugu State Government, through the Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), has announced the commencement of applications for its Livelihood Empowerment Scheme aimed at empowering 520 beneficiaries drawn from the state's 260 political wards, with two persons to emerge from each ward.
The initiative, which is targeted at rural dwellers and vulnerable persons with vocational skills, forms part of the Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah administration's commitment to poverty reduction, economic inclusion, and grassroots development.
Under the scheme, successful applicants will receive empowerment items and business support packages, including sewing machines, hairdressing machines, grinding machines, vulcanizing machines, and business grants to enable them become self-reliant and improve their livelihoods.
The General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the CSDA, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani, urged eligible residents to take advantage of the opportunity, stressing that the programme is open to all qualified applicants and is devoid of political considerations.
The application process, according to the agency, will run from June 29 to July 10, 2026, and interested applicants can either apply online or submit their applications physically at the agency's office in Enugu.
The empowerment scheme is expected to further strengthen the state's drive towards community development and inclusive economic growth, particularly in rural areas.
