The transformation drive of Governor continues to gather momentum as Enugu State deepens its commitment to inclusive education and grassroots development through its Smart Green Schools initiative.
In a significant demonstration of policy translating into real impact, the Enugu Garment Factory, also known as the Enugu Fashion & Garment Hub, has commenced the large-scale production and distribution of high-quality school uniforms to students across the state, entirely free of charge. The initiative is designed to ensure that every child, regardless of background, can attend school with confidence, dignity, and a sense of equality.
In Awgu Local Government Area, the policy took tangible shape as the Mayor of the council received uniforms for all 11 Smart Schools within the LGA. The development underscores the administration’s focus on last-mile delivery, ensuring that government interventions are not only well-designed but effectively reach the intended beneficiaries at the grassroots level.
The uniform distribution is part of a broader vision that goes beyond education. By leveraging the Enugu Garment Factory, the state government is simultaneously stimulating local production, creating employment opportunities, and strengthening the small and medium enterprise ecosystem.
