...Inaugurates Coordinators, Reaffirms Support for Governor Mbah’s 2027 Re-election

It was a convergence of political heavyweights, major stakeholders, clergymen, traditional rulers, market women, party leaders, and supporters as the Tomorrow Is Here Movement, a foremost support group of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration, led by Hon. Tony Okonkwo stormed Okpokolo, Ngwo in Udi Local Government Area, on Friday, January 30, 2026.

    The event, featured the official inauguration of local government and ward coordinators, as part of the movement’s ongoing grassroots mobilisation and propagation of the developmental strides of the Peter Mbah administration across Enugu State.

    Proceedings commenced with an opening prayer led by Rev. Fr. Ifeanyi Chukwu Amadi, followed by the traditional breaking of kolanut by eminent traditional rulers present, symbolising unity, peace, and a collective resolve to sustain purposeful leadership in Enugu State.

    In his address, the Udi Local Government Coordinator of the Tomorrow Is Here Movement reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the movement to ensuring the re-election of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, for a second tenure in 2027. He pledged that members of the movement would work tirelessly to consolidate the governor’s achievements and translate them into electoral victory.

Earlier, the Enugu West Coordinator of the movement, Hon. Arinze Onoh, formally welcomed the state leadership of the movement, party stakeholders, and the massive crowd in attendance. He highlighted the numerous transformative projects executed by Governor Peter Mbah across Enugu State, with particular emphasis on projects impacting Udi Local Government Area.

Hon. Onoh charged the newly inaugurated ward coordinators and their executives to deepen grassroots engagement, effectively mobilise the people, and clearly articulate the reasons Governor Peter Mbah deserves re-election in 2027. According to him, sustained voter education and people-oriented engagement remain the backbone of any successful political movement. He further urged eligible citizens to align with the APC to sustain the current pace of development in the state.

The APC Caretaker Chairman of Udi LGA, Barr. Bona Madu, assured the movement of the party’s full support, noting that the agenda of the Tomorrow Is Here Movement aligns with the APC’s vision of continuity, stability, and sustainable development under Governor Peter Mbah.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Udi Local Government Area, Hon. Hyginus Agu, expressed strong support for the movement. He presented a gift of appreciation to encourage intensified grassroots mobilisation and informed the gathering that APC e-registration and NIN registration exercises were ongoing at the venue, urging unregistered members of the public to take advantage of the opportunity.

In his remarks, the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu, commended the movement for its organisation, dedication, and commitment to advancing the 2027 project. He assured the group of the necessary political and legislative support, stressing that Governor Peter Mbah’s capacity-driven leadership must be sustained beyond 2027.

The event witnessed vibrant participation from women and grassroots support groups, including Dynamic Ladies for RG, Ifunanya Ofuobi Women Group Awhwu, and Obioma Social Women Group. The groups thrilled the audience with colourful cultural dance displays while openly declaring their solidarity and total support for Peter Mbah’s re-election bid, further energising the atmosphere.

Dignitaries present included the Deputy Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Ezeani Ezenta Ezeani; the President of the Tomorrow Is Here Movement, Hon. Tony Okonkwo; state executive members of the movement; the Chief of Staff to Senator Osita Ngwu, Hon. Emeka Aneke; the Secretary of Udi LGA, Hon. Austin Agu; APC caretakers, government officials, youth leaders, women groups, and party faithful from across the 20 wards of Udi LGA and beyond.

Before the formal inauguration, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ezeani Ezenta Ezeani, conducted an interactive Igbo cultural session. The session featured questions focused on good governance and the transformative policies of Governor Peter Mbah, particularly in education and security. Winners received various cash prizes.

The official inauguration of the ward executives was performed by the President of the Tomorrow Is Here Movement, Hon. Tony Okonkwo, who charged the coordinators to serve diligently as foot soldiers and ambassadors of Governor Peter Mbah’s developmental agenda.

In their responses, the newly inaugurated ward coordinators expressed gratitude to the leadership of the movement and pledged unwavering loyalty and commitment to delivering victory in 2027.
