This man, by name Prophet Ken Iloanya, the founder of Gathering of Eagles Ministry, located at 46 Ezeani Street, New Haven, Enugu, gave me the shock of the month.
He is the Neighborhood Watch Security Chairman of the Ubena Neighborhood Watch, New Haven, and also the Deputy State Chairman of PCRC, Enugu State.
On Monday, I was in New Haven to engage with some of the old APC members ahead of our forthcoming ward congresses when I saw him fixing streetlights and mounting cameras.
At first, I thought it was one of the incomings or outgoings, but on enquiry, I got to know the above details about him.
This man has single-handedly put up 30 solar-powered streetlights across six streets under his neighborhood watch, which cut across Ezeani Street, Udenweze Street, Bassey Duke, Azia Street, Ezeagu Street, as well as Ezeani Close. This is aside from four solar-powered CCTV cameras that he procured and is currently mounting in some strategic areas in his street.
One good thing about this man is his passion for what he does. He does this happily, devoid of any political interest.
He does this with his personal money, and I want to use this opportunity to commend him for doing so.
As someone who did neighborhood watch work for more than six years, I understand the importance of this gesture, considering the economic situation of our dear country.
Dear Prophet, what you are doing is Christianity in practice, and even if government officials and street residents do not appreciate you, I want to do that as a lover of good things.
Keep it up, and may God bless you more.
