Former Anambra State Governor and ex-presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has condemned the recent violent attacks in Kwara State that reportedly claimed dozens of lives, calling on both the federal and state governments to take urgent and decisive action to address the worsening security situation.

Describing the killings as tragic and unacceptable, Obi stressed that the primary duty of government is the protection of lives and property, warning that the rising wave of violence by armed groups poses a serious threat to national stability.

He urged authorities to adopt a coordinated and effective security strategy aimed at preventing further bloodshed and restoring confidence among vulnerable communities affected by the attacks.

The former Labour Party presidential flagbearer also emphasized that political leaders must move beyond rhetoric and ensure that security resources are properly deployed to combat terrorism, banditry, and other criminal networks across the country.

Obi further appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities, while reiterating the need for swift government intervention to restore peace and order in Kwara State and other troubled regions.
