The Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has commissioned ten (10) modern compactor trucks and seven (7) state-of-the-art mechanised street sweepers as part of a bold move to further transform waste management and environmental sanitation across the state. The newly commissioned equipment, deployed to the Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, reflects the administration’s commitment to innovative, efficient, and cost-effective public service delivery.
Governor Mbah emphasised that the introduction of the 21st-century sanitation equipment will not result in job losses, but will instead complement and enhance the work of sanitation personnel, ensuring improved coverage, faster response time, and higher environmental standards. The commissioning reinforces the governor’s resolve to do things differently in Enugu State, consolidating his reputation as a leading example of good governance in Nigeria. With this milestone, the state takes another decisive step toward a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future, a cleaner tomorrow begins today in Enugu State.
