Christmas Cheer Floods Nara Unataeze as Nwakaibeya Foundation Lights Up Ward 2 with 2025 Gift Outreach for Widows and Women
There was overwhelming jubilation and a festive atmosphere in Nara Unataeze Ward 2, Nkanu East Local Government Council in Enugu State, as the Nwakaibeya Foundation rolled out its 2025 Annual Christmas Gifts Distribution, putting broad smiles on the faces of widows and women in the community through the distribution of bags of rice, wrappers and other essential gift items.
The annual humanitarian gesture, which has consistently run for over a decade, once again reaffirmed the foundation’s enduring commitment to uplifting the vulnerable and celebrating womanhood, especially during the Christmas season. The event attracted large numbers of beneficiaries who gathered in joy and anticipation, turning the venue into a carnival of gratitude, songs and dance.
The foundation was founded by Hon. Chief Dr. Chinedu Mbah (Dike Eji-Eje Mba na Enugu) and his beloved wife, Lolo Onyedika Mbah, whose passion for grassroots empowerment and compassion-driven service has remained unwavering over the years. Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Enugu State on Market Matters and is also the Convener of the G-17 Support Group for Peter Mbah, a formidable grassroots political mobilisation platform in Enugu State.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, alongside his wife, Lolo Onyedika Mbah, expressed deep gratitude to the women and widows for their prayers, resilience and support over the years. They described the annual Christmas outreach as a heartfelt tradition rooted in love, compassion and a strong desire to give back to the community that raised them. According to them, the foundation remains committed to standing with the people, especially women and widows, not only during festivities but also in moments of need.
Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah used the occasion to commend the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his visionary leadership and people-oriented governance, describing the governor’s performance as transformative and impactful across the state. He praised the administration’s bold strides in infrastructure renewal, market reforms, economic revitalisation and improved service delivery, noting that these interventions have significantly improved the living standards of Ndị Enugu. According to him, Governor Mbah’s commitment to inclusive development, grassroots empowerment and accountability in governance has restored hope and confidence in public leadership, while laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth. He reaffirmed his unwavering support for the governor’s development agenda and urged citizens to continue partnering with the government to achieve a greater and more prosperous Enugu State.
Beyond seasonal generosity, the Nwakaibeya Foundation is widely known for its long-standing interventions in education, having paid WAEC and JAMB fees and awarded scholarships to indigent students for over a decade, thereby opening doors of opportunity for countless young people across communities.
The women and widows, overwhelmed by the kindness, burst into spontaneous songs, dances and jubilation, showering prayers and blessings on Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, his wife and their family. Many described the gesture as timely, impactful and deeply reassuring, especially in the face of prevailing economic challenges.
Celebrating the Christmas season in his hometown through the distribution of food items and gifts, Hon. Dr. Mbah once again demonstrated that leadership is best expressed through service and consistency. Community members noted that the annual outreach has become a cherished tradition, eagerly anticipated each year, and a clear testament to his enduring bond with the people.
