Enugu State is set to witness a groundbreaking moment in its fast-rising digital economy as the Enugu Magic Labs Animation Training Program (EMAT) prepares to graduate its pioneer cohort—an inspiring group of young animators, storytellers, and digital creators who are already redefining the creative landscape.

The Batch 1 Graduation Ceremony, scheduled for Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Amadeo Event Center, marks a major milestone in Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s vision of building a technology-driven, innovation-led economy powered by the talents of Enugu’s youth. Beginning at 10:00 AM WAT, the event promises to be a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the transformative power of digital skills.

EMAT, an initiative of the Enugu SME Center (Enugu MSME & Startup Agency) under the leadership of Hon. Arinze Chilo-Offiah, has provided world-class training in 2D and 3D animation—unlocking opportunities for young people to thrive in the global creative industry. This graduation ceremony not only honours their achievements but also serves as a bold reminder of Enugu’s commitment to nurturing creative excellence.

Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, expressing pride in the program’s success, reaffirmed the strategic importance of digital skills in economic development.
“The future of our economy lies in the hands of digitally skilled young people. EMAT is proof that Enugu’s youth are not just ready for that future—they’re already creating it,” he said.

With Africa’s animation and digital arts industry gaining global traction, the graduates of EMAT Batch 1 represent Enugu’s entry into a competitive, billion-dollar market—equipped with the skills, exposure, and confidence needed to excel globally.

As anticipation builds for the ceremony, the Enugu SME Center has also announced that applications for EMAT Batch 2 are now open, offering up to 80% subsidized training for aspiring digital creators ready to join the next wave of innovation. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply through the official portal: www.enugusme.en.gov.ng/emat.
