The Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, has recorded yet another proud moment as one of its outstanding graduates, Emmanuel Iheomasinachi Ebiem, was honoured with the prestigious President’s NYSC Honours Award by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Ebiem, an alumnus of IMT’s Department of Architecture, was recognised for his exemplary service, discipline, humility, and community contributions during his 2021 Batch A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year. In a show of gratitude to his alma mater, he personally presented the award to the Rector of IMT, Professor Gozie Sunday Ogbodo, during a courtesy visit to the institution in Enugu.
Originally from Okpebe Amodu Akwunanaw in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, Ebiem obtained his Higher National Diploma (HND) in Architecture from IMT. Speaking during the presentation, he expressed heartfelt appreciation to the institution for shaping both his academic and moral foundation.
“IMT gave me not just an education, but a vision and discipline for excellence. This honour is as much for the institution as it is for me,” he remarked.
In his response, the Rector congratulated the awardee and praised his decision to dedicate the honour to IMT, describing it as a reflection of the institution’s enduring standard of excellence.
“This moment reflects the quality of graduates IMT continues to produce – men and women of competence, integrity, and patriotism. We are proud of you and remain committed to sustaining academic excellence,” Professor Ogbodo said.
The brief but colourful ceremony was witnessed by members of IMT’s management, staff, and students, who celebrated Ebiem as a role model for the younger generation.
This recognition, according to many observers, further cements IMT’s reputation as a training ground for leaders, innovators, and change-makers who continue to excel nationally and internationally.
