Enugu State will host the House of Representatives Committee on the Constitution Review of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (As Amended) for the South East Zone A (Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi States) in a public hearing scheduled for Saturday, 19th July 2025, at 10:00 AM prompt. The event will take place at the Multi-Purpose Hall, International Conference Center, Enugu.
The hearing, hosted by Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Executive Governor of Enugu State, will provide an avenue for citizens of the South East to make submissions and engage with the ongoing constitutional amendment process. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudean, Ph.D, GCON, the Deputy Minority Whip and Chairman, South East Zone Centre A, Rt. Hon. George Ibezimako Ozodinobi, and the Deputy Speaker and Chairman, Constitution Review Committee, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, CFR, are expected to lead the proceedings.
Announcing the event, the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Enugu State on Legislative Matters, Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor JP, called on stakeholders, civil society groups, and the general public to participate actively to ensure that the voices of the people of the South East are heard and reflected in the ongoing constitution review process.
