The people of Ihenyi Agarama Autonomous Community in Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State have expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for granting approval for the establishment of a Housing Estate, named Washington Estate, in their community.
The approval, which comes as part of Governor Mbah’s broader vision to urbanize rural areas across the state, marks a significant milestone for the people of Isi-Uzo, especially as Ihenyi Agarama becomes the first community in the LGA to benefit from this transformative housing initiative.
Governor Mbah had earlier designated Eha-Amufu as an urban area, signaling a new phase of infrastructural development and economic rejuvenation for the region.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the President General of Ihenyi Agarama Autonomous Community, Hon. Charles Ilodi, thanked the Governor for the visionary step. He also extended deep appreciation to the General Manager of the Enugu State Housing Development Corporation, Engr. Gerald Asogwa, for his proactive role in facilitating the project and ensuring speedy implementation.
Similarly, the Chairman of all Ichies and Regent of Ihenyi Agarama, Chief Barr. B.A. Onowu, described the housing project as a historic development that will not only uplift the community but also enhance the status of Eha-Amufu at large. He noted that the presence of the estate would help reduce housing costs in the area and attract further development.
Chief Onowu hailed Governor Mbah as a transformative leader whose commitment to rural modernization and inclusive development is clearly reflected in his policies and projects. He called on the people of Enugu State to continue supporting the Governor in realizing his vision for a new and prosperous Enugu.
The establishment of Washington Estate in Ihenyi Agarama underscores the Mbah administration’s dedication to bridging the urban-rural divide and promoting sustainable development across all zones of the state.
