— As Wife of Igbo-Eze South Council Chairman, Barr. Mrs. Empress Ugo-Ferdinand, Commends Her Philanthropy, Love for Children
It was a day of colour, excitement, and celebration as the First Lady of Enugu State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, hosted children from across the state to a memorable Children’s Day Party held on 28th May 2025 at the picturesque Unity Park, Enugu.
Represented by Mrs. Ugwu, the wife of the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, the event drew in hundreds of children and dignitaries from across the state, including the wives of Local Government Chairmen, who came out in solidarity to support and celebrate the vision of the First Lady for the children of Enugu State.
The day was marked with rich cultural displays, thrilling games, talent exhibitions, and a heartwarming atmosphere of unity, joy, and love. Children from the 17 Local Government Areas of the state showcased their creativity, brilliance, and cultural pride in various performances that lit up the entire Unity Park with applause and laughter.
Barr. Mrs. Empress Ugo-Ferdinand, the wife of the Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, on behalf of Igbo-Eze South LGA, passionately commended Her Excellency, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, for her steadfast love for children and her philanthropic interventions through the Custo Care Foundation. She hailed the First Lady as “a mother with a golden heart” and a “pillar of hope for the less privileged,” noting that her continued outreach and support for vulnerable children and families had become a beacon of inspiration in the state.
“She has not only celebrated the children today but continues to support their growth every day through educational materials, health interventions, and empowerment programs. Her legacy of compassion and commitment is one that will live on in every child she touches,” Mrs. Ugo-Ferdinand remarked.
In a goodwill message delivered on behalf of Her Excellency, Mrs. Ugwu reiterated the First Lady’s unwavering commitment to the holistic development of every Enugu child. She emphasized the administration’s focus on creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children through education, healthcare, and social welfare initiatives.
