Enugu State Governor Dr Peter Mbah has reiterated his administration's avowed determination to serve Ndi Enugu with every fibre of his being, not to betray their trust or to let them down.

Dr Mbah re-echoed this during a dinner organised by his Deputy Barr Ifeanyi Ossai to mark the 53rd birthday of the Governor, held at the governor's Lodge, Government House Enugu.

Our government house correspondent Fred Nnaji reports that describing birthdays as occasions for people to reflect and recall God's abundant love in their lives, and also remind them of the fleeting nature of time, Dr Mbah said his 53rd birthday presents a clear understanding that time flies speedily, hence the urgency his administration needs to deliver on the campaign promises.

He reassured his commitment to making Enugu state a premier destination for investment, business, living and tourism, as well as grow the economy exponentially and eradicate poverty, which are largely responsible for grassroots development.

Extolling the governor for his zeal to transform Enugu state, the deputy governor, Barr Ifeanyi Ossai who wished the governor more faithful years and good health to accomplish his mission in the state as governor credibly, described birthdays as a period to socialise and to thank God for his mercy.

Also, the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, Most Rev Prof Godfrey Onah commended the governor for all he is doing in the state, noting that Enugu was lucky to have him as a governor at this critical time when the state is yearning for help.

The event had in attendance past governors and their Deputies including Barr Sullivan Chime, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Rev Raph Nwonye, Lolo Cecilia Ezeilo as well as the Bishop of Enugu Catholic Diocese, Most Rev Dr. Callistus Onaga, his Nsukka counterpart of the Anglian Communion, Rt Rev Aloysius Agbo, former Catholic and Anglican Bishops, Rev fathers lay faithful among other Christians, political leaders and well wishers.
