As part of his ongoing tour of major markets in Enugu State, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Market Liaison, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mba, visited New Market, Enugu, where he engaged with traders and market leaders.
During the visit, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mba conveyed the appreciation of His Excellency, Barr. Peter N. Mbah, to the traders for their unwavering support during the last election and their continued commitment to the administration. He commended them for being law-abiding citizens, paying their taxes promptly, and actively contributing to the development of Enugu State.
In his address, he urged traders to sustain their civic responsibilities, emphasizing that prompt tax payments and support for government programs were crucial in achieving the administration’s vision for a better Enugu. He reiterated that the government-trader relationship is symbiotic, assuring them that the revenue generated is being judiciously utilized for the state’s development.
The traders and market leaders in New Market expressed their appreciation for the Governor’s developmental strides, acknowledging visible improvements across various sectors. They pledged continued cooperation with the government, especially in tax compliance, having witnessed how their contributions are being effectively utilized for the state's progress.
During the interaction, the traders highlighted some pressing concerns and areas where government intervention was needed. In response, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mba assured them that their requests would be conveyed to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.
Before concluding the visit, Hon. Dr. Mba toured the market to assess the current state of affairs, reinforcing the government’s commitment to ensuring that traders operate in a conducive environment.
