BREAKING! Supreme Court Dismisses Fubara’s Appeal Challenging Amaewhule-Led Assembly

A five-man panel of the Supreme Court, led by Justice Uwani Abba-Aji, has dismissed an appeal filed by Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, who sought to challenge the leadership of the Rivers State House of Assembly under Martin Amaewhule.

The appeal was dismissed following the withdrawal of the suit by Fubara's counsel, Yusuf Ali. Justice Abba-Aji, in delivering the judgment, awarded a cost of two million naira, payable by Fubara to the Rivers State House of Assembly as the first respondent and Martin Amaewhule as the second respondent.

This ruling effectively affirms the leadership structure of the Rivers Assembly under Amaewhule, keeping the status quo intact.

With the dismissal, Governor Fubara’s challenge has been rendered null, ensuring that the leadership of the Rivers Assembly remains as it has been under Amaewhule's guidance.
