We need to address the problems at state levels to function well in true federalism. Ask members of state assemblies, national Assembly , local councilors and local government Chairmen to sit up. In legislature the Opposition Party has a major role, which is:
Constructive criticism of government.
Putting restriction on arbitrariness of ruling party.
Safeguarding liberty and right of people.
Preparation to win and form government.
Expression of public opinion.
The opposition party has a duty to offer voters a credible alternative to the government in office and to make the ruling government accountable.
Most importantly is to be a credible alternative, however, the opposition must also be ready to exercise the responsibilities to which it aspires on a lasting basis.
