JUST IN: Udenu Council Chairman Presents N4.5 Billion 2025 Budget To Legislative Council, tagged "Accelerated Growth and Phenomenal Progress"

The Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, Aka Eze Aka, presented the 2025 fiscal year budget, titled the "Budget of Accelerated Growth and Phenomenal Progress," to the Udenu Legislative Council. Inspired by Governor Peter Mbah’s "Budget of Exponential Growth and Inclusive Progress" for Enugu State, the plan aims to bring significant development across Udenu.

The presentation took place at the Udenu Legislative Council Chambers, with notable dignitaries, including the Leader of the Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Dr. Nnamdi Odoh, and other key figures. Dr. Odoh expressed the Council's readiness to approve the budget and support initiatives that would enhance the lives of Udenu's citizens.

Aka reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and emphasized the need for fiscal responsibility despite financial challenges.

Key budget priorities include:

1. Healthcare: Establishing a state-of-the-art Udenu Medical Center with emergency units, mobile clinics, and preventive healthcare initiatives. The administration also plans to distribute essential medications.

2. Urban Development: The creation of Maryland City, a modern hub designed to decongest Obollo-Afor and attract investors.

3. Rural Electrification: Extending power to underserved communities like Ndabru-Afube, Odoru, and Amutenyi Obollo-Eke.

4. Infrastructure: Construction and rehabilitation of critical roads, including the Amalla-Ifuroka and Ukwu-Uvuru roads.

5. Education: Allocating funds for scholarships, school renovations, and transforming the MDG/SDG Skill Acquisition Center into a JAMB center.

The total 2025 budget is ₦4,526,450,000, with revenue from Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Statutory Allocation, and VAT. The budget breakdown includes ₦1,952,766,447 for personnel costs, ₦250,000,000 for overheads, and ₦2,323,683,553 for capital projects.
