The Executive Chairman of Ezeagu Local Government, Dr. Vita Ndu, presented the 2025 budget to the Ezeagu Legislative Council On the 18th of December 2024. The Budget which was Titled; *Budget of Sustainable Economic Growth, through Innovative Agricultural Programs, Sustainable Infrastructural Development, and Inclusive Poverty Alleviation* anchored on the Future is Green Project Initiative of his administration.
Dr. Ndu emphasized that the 2025 budget was meticulously developed to address the existing infrastructural gap in various communities while fostering economic empowerment and inclusive Poverty alleviation, Highlighting his administration’s commitment to a functional local government system, the Chairman reiterated his campaign promise of transforming Ezeagu into a vibrant and efficient hub of governance and economic development.

Recurrent Expenditure: ₦2,611,305,000.00
Total budget ₦6,590,297,744
The 2025 budget reflects a 22% increase in recurrent expenditure compared to the ₦2,146,428,648.00 of 2024. This adjustment accommodates the newly approved minimum wage for state and local government workers. More notably, the allocation for capital projects has surged by 382%, from ₦825,999,909.00 in 2024 to ₦3,978,992,774.00. This significant boost ensures sufficient funding for critical infrastructural projects that will drive sustainable economic development in the local government area.
The 2025 budget encompasses an array of development priorities, through
Agriculture, security, improvement to human health, enhancing quality education, improving general administration, construction & rehabilitation of roads and bridges, construction & rehabilitation of government buildings, skill acquisition programs among others, in line with his pledge to Ndi Ezeagu during his campaign tour.
Dr. Ndu reaffirmed that his administration’s approach aligns with the long-term vision of empowering Ndi Ezeagu, ensuring inclusivity, and fostering sustainable economic development. He expressed his gratitude to the legislative council members, PDP executives, and local government staff who have supported his administration’s goals.
The Leader of Ezeagu Legislative Council, Hon. Wisdom Agu, expressed happiness for the comprehensive budget, assuring the Chairman that the legislative council will thoroughly review and give the budget speedy attention for the purpose of early passage.
The presentation was attended by high-profile dignitaries, like Rt. Hon. Chima Obieze member representing Ezeagu in the state house of Assembly, Deputy chairman of Ezeagu local government Chief Mrs Nkiru Ugwuagu, Ezeagu PDP chairman Hon. Steve Anibueze, among others. This marked a significant milestone in Ezeagu Local Government’s journey towards achieving a sustainable economic growth and development.
