In the spirit of Yuletide, the Smart Mayor of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area and the Enugu State ALGON Deputy leader Barr. Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze , has demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of his people as he distributed over 350 bags of rice to indigent residents across the 16 wards in the council.
The initiative, aimed at supporting the beneficiaries during the festive season, captured the poorest of the poor irrespective of religion, political party and beliefs. Some of the beneficiaries expressed joy and gratitudes to the Mayor for his generosity and thoughtfulness.
Also in the picture were the traditional rulers who were clothed in the popular Ishi-Agu Royalty regalia in appreciation for their proactiveness and dedication to their duties as traditional rulers in their various communities.
Speaking at the distribution event, the deputy ALGON Leader (Enugu State) appreciated the traditional rulers for their roles in maintaining law and order in their various communities and charged them to ensure that their communities remain peaceful during and after the Yuletide.
In his response, the leader of the Royal Fathers in the council, the Chairman, Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council Igbo-Eze South Chapter and Igwe of Obaka Kingdom Unadu, HRH, Igwe B. B. Okechukwu Agbaji appreciated the Council Mayor, thanking him also for his numerous road projects across the 16 wards in the council and assured him of their sincere support for his #ProgressAgenda as they believe that indeed, #TomorrowIsHere.
