The Enugu First Lady, Mrs Nkechinyere Mbah celebrated over 300 children from schools, orphanages, and homes across Enugu State at the Children’s Christmas Party in Enugu.
The event took place at Unity Park in collaboration with her foundation, Custos Care Foundation.
The Christmas party aimed to spread joy and create lasting memories for children while emphasizing the importance of investing in their happiness and development.
The vibrant celebration featured lively games, music, and entertainment, creating an atmosphere of pure excitement. From energetic dance sessions to interactive activities, the event was designed to bring smiles to every child’s face.
One of the highlights was the exceptional performance by children from the Family Support Programme (FSP) Children’s Home, who participated in a challenging chess-related game. Their remarkable focus and problem-solving skills earned them medals and special prizes, showcasing their incredible potential and encouraging them to continue striving for excellence.
During her address, Mrs Mbah emphasized the values of kindness, empathy, and hard work. “You are the heart and hope of Enugu State,” she said. “your dreams and potential will help our community flourish.”
The children also participated in various games and competitions, showcasing their talents and creativity while winning cash prizes and rewards. Each child left with a special party pack, ensuring the joy of the day was shared equally among all attendees.
The event was attended by key figures, including the Wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Adaeze Ossai; the Wife of the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Mrs. Chinyere Ugwu; the Honorable Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Ngozi Enih; the Chairman of the Enugu State Tourism Board, Hon. Rita Mbah; the ALGON Chairperson, Mrs. Rita Edeh; and other dignitaries whose presence added to the occasion’s significance.
